Implementing support for the may protocol upgrade
Flowee the Hub adds support for the upcoming protocol upgrade
Apart from a small list of bugfixes this release includes the needed parts for the upcoming protocol upgrade planned on the Bitcoin Cash chain. The protocol upgrade is determined to be on the 15th of May 2019 and you will need to update your client before that time.
This protocol upgrade is relatively small with only two changes;
Schnorr signatures support.
The current way to approve payments is to sign it with ECDSA-style signatures, as introduced by Satoshi in the original Bitcoin protocol.
This protocol upgrade allows users to also sign the same public address with the same private key but using the Schnorr signature algorithm.
For most APis and usages there is no change, you use the same public and private keys for your wallet and you share the same type of addresses to get paid to. Just that the signature automatically embedded on the blockchain will be different.
More API level support will be added in a future Flowee update.
Recover funds from BTC-style SegWit addresses
This is described in the central design as:
«Starting in May 2019, transactions spending segwit P2SH coins will be allowed once again to be included in blocks.»
